What MapleFresh collects when you use the game, launcher and website, why, and your choices. We collect only what we need to run the game and keep it fair.
In short: we don't sell your data, there are no ads on this site, and we never see your card number.
What we collect
- Account: username, email, birthday and gender (the original game uses these; your birthday confirms character deletion), and your password, stored only as a hash.
- Game data: characters, items, mesos, NX balance, houses, guilds and progress, plus logins, the days you played and Cash Shop purchases.
- Technical: your IP address (see IP addresses), browser type for website logins, and connection logs.
- Launcher: its version, Windows or Mac, a random install ID and your client version, so we can ship updates and fix problems.
- Chat and reports: public chat (map chat, megaphones, To Channel, To Global) and game commands are logged for moderation. Private chat such as whispers is logged only while staff switch private-chat logging on, for example to look into abuse. Bug reports, player reports and support posts are kept.
- Voice chat: relayed live to other players, never recorded.
- Things you post: forum posts, house designs and VIP submissions (including any contact name you add).
- Invites: who invited you. We check invites (for example by network) to stop abuse.
- Card payments: our payment processor collects your card details in a secure form on Buy NX; we never see or store your card number. We get the order status, amount, NX package and a payment reference, and pass your account email to the processor for your receipt.
- Monero payments: per order, the one-time address we made, the amount, your account and whether the payment confirmed. We only see payments to our own addresses, not your wallet. Old Bitcoin orders are kept the same way.
Cookies and local storage
- Login cookie: one cookie keeps you logged in, for up to 30 days.
- Local storage: your theme, your username if you tick "Remember my username", radio settings, and a friend's invite code (up to 30 days, until you sign up).
- No advertising or tracking cookies today (see Advertising and measurement).
- Other services appear only where you see them: videos on the Videos page, the card form on Buy NX (our payment processor), and an anti-bot check on sign-up when it's on. They may see your IP address and set their own cookies. Game images come from our own server.
How we use it
- To run your account, the game, the launcher and the website.
- To deliver NX and handle purchases and payment problems.
- To send account emails such as password resets. No marketing emails unless you ask.
- To keep the game fair and safe: cheating, bots, scams, abuse, ban evasion, reports and appeals.
- To fix bugs and improve the game (for example player counts and launcher versions in use).
We don't sell or rent your data.
Advertising and measurement
Today this site has no advertising or analytics tags. If we start advertising MapleFresh with Google Ads, this applies, and we'll update the date at the top first.
- What we may use: Google Ads conversion tracking (which ads led to a download, sign-up or purchase), Google Ads remarketing (showing our ads to past visitors) and Google Analytics (counting visits).
- How it works: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to show ads based on your earlier visits to this site or other websites. We and those vendors use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as Google's advertising cookies) together to show and measure ads. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
- Never sent: your email, username, password, card details or other personal details.
- Consent: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland these tags only run after you agree in our cookie choice, and you can change your mind there at any time.
- Under 18: we don't target players we know are under 18 with ad lists.
- Opt out: Google Ads Settings, the NAI opt-out, the YourAdChoices opt-out, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser. You'll still see ads, just not ones based on your visits here.
Who can see it
- Other players and visitors see only what's public by design: character names, looks, levels, jobs, guilds, rankings, houses, forum posts and bug reports (with your character name). Megaphones and To Channel and To Global chat can appear on the website and in the launcher with your character name. Never your email, birthday, password or IP addresses.
- Staff see what their rank needs. Only Super GMs and admins see IP addresses; only admins read logged private chat.
- Service providers: our payment processor, our hosting and email services, and, once we advertise, the ad and measurement partners above, only to do that work for us.
- The law: when it requires it, or to protect players or the service from fraud or serious harm.
IP addresses
Each time you log in or play (game, website or launcher), we record the IP address, the account, which of the three it was, and when the address was first and last seen. Nothing else.
- Why: account security, stopping cheating, abuse and ban evasion, and enforcing bans.
- Who: only Super GMs and admins. Never shown to players, sold or shared.
- How long: deleted 180 days after it was last seen with your account, or within a day of deleting the account.
How long we keep it
- Account and game data: while your account exists.
- IP addresses: 180 days after last seen.
- Days you played: 120 days.
- Chat logs and reports: while the server runs, for reports, appeals and repeat offenders.
- Purchase records: also after an account is deleted, where needed for payment problems, disputes and fraud prevention.
- Backups: deleted data can stay in backups until they're replaced.
Security
Passwords are hashed, the site uses HTTPS, card details never touch our servers, and staff access depends on rank. No system is perfectly secure, so use a password you use nowhere else and never share it. Staff never ask for it.
Your choices and rights
- Change your password in the Game Panel at any time.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account and its data through Support. We check the account is yours first. Deleting removes its characters and items for good.
- Your local privacy law may give you more rights. Contact us and we'll help.
Children
MapleFresh isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. A parent of a child under 13 with an account can contact us through Support and we'll delete it. Players aged 13 to 17 need a parent's or guardian's permission (see the Terms of Service).
Changes to this policy
We update the date at the top when this policy changes, and post bigger changes in our News.
